ABSTRACT:
In Solid ICE, a user's desktop runs inside a KVM virtual machine on a server in the data center, and the user connects to it from a stateless thin-client using a remote rendering technology called SPICE™. This allows IT to centralize the desktop environment and get the advantages of simplified desktop provisioning, better support capabilities, easier maintenance, high availability and significantly reduced power consumption - and at the same time, allows a user experience indistinguishable from that of a physical PC.
